3. A Pioneer in Educational Innovation: The Penghu County Elementary School Mathematics Games
•In recent years, Waian Elementary School has partnered with Penghu County Compulsory Education Advisory Group to create the prestigious Penghu County Elementary School Mathematics Games. As a key initiator and the primary organizing body of this initiative, Waian has helped transform how students perceive mathematics.
•The Mission: Held annually in celebration of International Pi Day (March 14), this tournament aims to dismantle the stereotype that mathematics is dry and overly difficult. Through interactive challenge booths, mathematical puzzles, and strategic math board games (Number Battle Chess), abstract logic is translated into practical life literacy.
•Scope & Success: The competition is divided into Lower, Middle, and Higher-grade divisions, drawing talented teams from schools across all five townships and one city of Penghu to compete on the same stage. Students from Waian Elementary School consistently achieve outstanding results in this annual intellectual event.
